25 January 2008

for good measure.

it's come to the attention of the masses that this blog has been dormant for far too long. the words have become stale, and even images seem to have burned themselves into the page.

there should be some kind of community center for forgotten blogs to congregate and entertain each other. perhaps leech off of each other and return to their authors with fresh ideas, insisting new posts grace its pages.

much has happened since the last post, world wide:

  • more people were killed by missiles and air strikes in Israel-Gaza
  • somebody important decided Paul VI Audience Hall in the Vatacan was going to be more "green", and would use solar panels to supply all of its energy (nifty!)
  • Russia ran successful tests for their new ICBMs
  • Dr. Kevorkian was released from prison (yea. that's a good idea...)
  • the 33rd G8 Summit met in june
  • jamaican police ended the investigation of Bob Woolmer's death, announcing he died of 'natural causes'
  • the States were forced to become more environmentally friendly as it added the word "drought" to its vocabulary
  • in november, "President" Musharraf declared a state of "emergency" in Pakistan
  • a free trade agreement between the US and Peru was approved in december
  • while the US still experiences problems from the drought, Mozambique citizens struggle to stay alive through flooding

who knows...maybe the world is going to hell. maybe it's not. but i've found myself an apartment, an internship, and a laptop. i still manage to eat full meals, have a beautiful boyfriend, amazing friends, and family who cares for me. half full, or half empty...it's still half of a glass of water, and that's more than any of us 'deserve'. i'm thankful.

we'll make it. i miss you--but with any luck, we'll meet again.
