the image was burned into her memory forever. the sky was purple when she woke up that morning--and not just purple, but purple and blue with swirls of white clouds like rocky road ice cream with a fluffy white marshmellow here and there. he saw it too--when they looked at that sky, he kissed her cheek, and they knew they would be alright.

today was going to be a good day.

[every day is a good day, since it's the only day you have. tomorrow doesn't yet, and may never, exist. the effect of yesterday already happened and is gone. today, now, is all we have. thinking of being here and now always brings up images of melting frustration and warm hugs from friends. everyone remembers where and when they learnt 'here. now.' if they've actually figured out how it works.]

and such a good day would slide into a good memory, to be stored and cherished twenty years from now as a "remember when" story. stories like those really are what keep us alive. being able to share with someone else and reminisce about yesterday reminds us that yesterday was. talking about tomorrow means we're planning for something else that will be. and dreams are wishes, what could have been...

...visions images of sugar plums danced in their heads.

we should dream more often. thank you for dreaming with me.
