that's enough.
you can write whatever you want, you have that freedom--i won't pretend to deny you that. but why must you degrade the beauty or strength or boldness or sincerity of someone else's writing by insisting on making your presence known?
we know you're there. thank you for your comments.
but honestly, if you must interject, atleast maintain the tone of the writing. if it's a lighthearted piece, fine--have your fun. i do it too. but if it's not, then recognise it for what it is and have the courtesy to follow the writer's lead. explore the topic, if you'd like. or just state your agreement or disagreement..then leave it at that.

i'm afraid a few days ago, i helped a conversation devalue the subtlety of someone's writing. i never apologised--maybe no one else noticed it happening but me. nevertheless, i'm sorry.
