dear God, child. if you only knew--
if you could only feel what that heart endures as it attempts to single-handedly carry you. and she'll keep trying until you can stand, yourself. or until she can't stand anymore. you don't want to be carried, i know, but you can't continue on your own. that heart picks you up, drapes an arm around you as you grasp the edge of her shoulder... pulling herself along under your weight. gravity--gravity is but a rule. that heart doesn't understand the concept of rules, can't comprehend boundary. i've tried to teach her. tried to show her..but she insists...
to her, you're weightless
at least until you find your footing, take your arm from her shoulder, thank her kindly, and walk away. that's the moment--as she feels the pressure being removed. while she picked you up, you gave her something to lean on.
you carried each other.
she knows, that's the moment you'll find tear-stained cheeks on a damp pillow. i asked her once, why she won't give in..why she can't just, give up.
she didn't understand the question
